Sheldon Harvey

Sheldon Harvey’s (b. 1978) works are already part of major collections throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He was first influence by his grandfather to pursue art, his initial talents being paint and sculpture. His main inspirations come from his spirituality. Most of his works feature traditional figures in Dine culture; his vision has always been to paint and sculpt ancient Navajo stories he’s known since childhood.

He studied at the Dine College with some of the finest artists of our time, both European and Native American. In his education and the subsequent years of his work he’s developed exponentially as an artist. Sheldon took first place in sculpture and second in painting in 2005 Santa Fe Indian Market; in 2006, he won first place in painting. Sheldon also won first place for sculpture and painting at 2007 SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market. In 2008, Sheldon won Best in Show at the SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market for his painting "The Trickster Way."
